Act (HSW act) 1974 and accept our responsibilities in that regard.We are fully committed to achieving a high level of health, safety and welfare throughout the Company and therefore recognise our responsibility to provide safe and healthy places of work to the highest standards.To that end the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Etc. Act 1974, all related legislation and codes of practice are regarded as the minimum acceptable standards.
We will endeavour to the best of our ability and within the scope of our professional knowledge to at all times ensure that any designs, instructions or decisions we make will have been given all due consideration for the health and safety of any person who would be affected thereby.Adequate finance and resources will always be allowed for managing health and safety.Our aim is to achieve a level of excellence in managing health and safety above and beyond merely complying with legislation.
The Health & Safety at Work Etc. 1974 imposes responsibilities on both employers and employees.All persons at work are covered, whether employers, employees or self-employed.The legislation protects not only people at work, but also the health and safety of the general public who may be affected by work activities.It is essential therefore that employees accept their responsibilities and co-operate with the Company’s Policy as set out and as further directed from time to time.
When on a site, or in or on any premises, we will endeavour to the best of our ability to conduct ourselves about the place in a manner which has all due regard to the safety of ourselves and any person who would be affected as a result of our presence and actions.
Any plant, tools or equipment we may select, supply and use will be in a safe and well maintained state of repair and will meet the requirements of The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) 1998. Any materials or substances provided or procured for use in our operations will be in accordance with minimum British, European or other recognised standards and be the subject of assessments under current Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH).
When on a site, or premises, we will be suitably clothed for the circumstances that prevail: we will arrive with whatever clothing and personal protective equipment is likely to be necessary.(Examples are: safety footwear, hard hats, gloves and similar items).When appropriate, we will report our presence to the site management.
We are committed to continuing liaison and consultation with employees.Employees must study this Policy and are encouraged to raise any comments or queries with the Managing Director.
Every employee will be provided with a Falcon Electrical Limited Health & Safety document which gives guidance on the steps to be followed when working in clients’ premises.
